Creating an account and your first project

2 min read Updated: 03.09.2026

Getting monitoring up and running doesn't require talking to sales or going through a trial period. After registering, you can create your first project straight away, connect your application and start collecting data from production.

Create an account

Registration creates an account, the first user and access to the free plan. To get started, you don't need any server configuration or extra tools.

Once you're logged in, you land on the projects panel, where you can create your first application.

Create your first project

A project represents a monitored application, website or service. You can create a separate project for your shop, your API, your admin panel or a client application. This keeps errors and statistics separated.

Panel → Projects → Add project

When creating a project, you provide its name and the application's address. This address can be used by uptime, SSL certificate and performance monitoring.

Project token

Once the project is created, you receive a project token. This is an identifier that ensures each event you send reaches the right project.

The token doesn't replace the private key. For integrations that require authentication, the token points to the project, while the private key confirms that a given installation is allowed to send data to it.

Connect your application

The simplest option is to use the integration built for the technology you're using. DockRay supports WordPress, PrestaShop, Joomla, Laravel, Symfony, Drupal, PHP, Python, Node.js, Next.js and Nuxt. In other environments, you can send events and transactions directly through the REST API.

What's worth doing after creating a project?

  • Connect the application and send the first test event.
  • Enable uptime monitoring if the project has a public address.
  • Add SSL certificate monitoring for sites using HTTPS.
  • Enable performance monitoring if you want to track PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals changes.
  • Set up the people responsible for receiving alerts.

After completing these steps, monitoring can run in the background, and the panel will start building a history of events and measurements for the project.
